Description

Inspired by the upward-curving form of the traditional gonjong roof in Indonesian architecture, this design translates its silhouette into the backrests of chairs and sofas. Renamed Arkona, derived from “Arka” meaning arch or curve.

インドネシアの伝統建築に見られるゴンジョン屋根の反り上がった形状から着想を得て、そのシルエットをチェアやソファの背もたれに落とし込んでいます。「Arkona」は「アーチ」や「曲線」を意味するサンスクリット語「Arka」に由来しています。
